Kiwinano.ca is a price match and price comparison saving website in Canada. In order to expand the market and provide customers with a better user experience, Kiwinano decided to redesign some of the important pages based on the current structure.

My Role

Under the supervision of the operation manager, I was responsible for the visual design of the website and collaborated with other designers during the user experience design process.

1. Redesign of the Homepage

 

The Fresh Thoughts

Our team brainstormed and sketched about both the desktop and mobile versions, focusing on how to apply the best solutions to solve the problems identified within the limited time. 

Consistency with Mobile Version

With the constraints, we took an approach to design a width-fixed version for desktop, which relatively applies to the tablets and a responsive mobile version for smart phone users.

Redesign of the Product Box 

Based on the current structure, I changed the colour palette to the branding colour and made some changes on paddings and margins.

User Testing

We took the chance of the grand opening and came back to the users for feedbacks on our structure and content filling, on which we furthered our design iterations.

Final Deliverables 

With all the feedback I continued to the visual design of the website. Besides of the web and mobile versions, I also redesigned the action bar of the mobile version.

LAUNCH and WIN 

The new design was launched in the middle of October in 2016, successfully reduced the bounce rate!

"An Interactive Experience!!"

We decided to bring the great features of price match right in front of the users. We all agreed upon that an interactive price match model will be a good solution.

The Primary Structure

Our team had some valuable and constructive discussions based on the research. A primary structure was built and upon which we started sketching and putting content inside.

3. Design of the Event Theme Template

 

For Black Friday!

In preparation for the coming Black Friday,  Kiwinano decided to design an event theme template. I was responsible for the information architecture, interaction design and visual design.

 

The Black Friday page was launched in the middle of November, 2016.
